Marino Marrè's shipyard was founded in 1989.
During the early years, its business revolved around the repair of pleasure boats, although way back in 1990 the owner was offered the chance to rig work boats for associations of maritime and dock pilots.
These work experiences turned out to be extremely useful in the following years, as they enabled the shipyard to develop an excellent technical background.
Thanks to the building of work boats, Marrè's shipyard's name crossed the limits of Liguria and became known in the nautical community, both in Italy and abroad.
In the mid-nineties the shipyard's owner started to work in harness with developer Umberto Tagliavini Marine Design , in order to produce a new type of hull. Together, they intended to facilitate the work of dock pilots by creating a boat that could be used indifferently in favourable and prohibitive weather conditions, coupling excellent speed with great stability and control.
The first boat saw the light in 1996 and was to be used by the pilots working in the port of Sant'Antioco (Sardegna). The second boat followed shortly afterwards and it was designed for the pilots of Savona ( Liguria ).
Since then, the shipyard carried out a number of new and ambitious projects that reflected the dynamic and innovative personality of its founder, obtaining in addition the ISO 9001:2000 Quality Certification. Marino Marre's shipyard's latest achievement was the construction of the four tender boats destined to the Italian Navy aircraft carrier.
The shipyard has an outer yard of more than 1000mq and an indoor heated area of about 850 mq, which also includes office space and a warehouse. |
